Some research (in vivo, yes) has been done with a certain dog individual, sometimes obeying the name Touko, related to its temperature ratio behaviour. These observations are highly observer and dog individual dependent. Don't try these at home.
Touko vs. Temperature
+100°C Touko checks through (when glass) or under (when wooden) the sauna door that me and friends are doing just fine. Goes out to keep an eye. Most probably (and mainly) that the clothes are not running away. Important.
+80°C Touko pops in to the sauna to check that me and friends are doing just fine there. Goes out to keep an eye. That the clothes are not running away. Important.
+35°C If extremely mild sauna - Touko stays outside. If this temperature happens outside, Touko turns out to be The Shadow himself. The Shadow gets forward from shadow to shadow - no matter whose shadow that actually is. Result is nearly invisible dog. Crucial to stay alive. Important to have the shortest fur cut. No hope of trying to do any kind of obedience training.
+23°C and above. Very flegmatic little furry guy. Oh yes, hopefully also the fur is very short.
+15°C The highest temperature to imagine some kind of dog tests to be taken. Above this, the commands seemingly are melting down in his ears, so no or nearly no response nor reaction.
10°C The limit below which the shortest furcut is not absolutely necessary anymore.
-1°C Touko turns into a snowball. Of course only in the case that there is snow. But when there is, nearly all the snow comes with him.
-20°C Never better weather to go for a walk!! So active and enjoying little guy taking the joy out from the snow. Let's stay out fooooreeeveeeer!!!
-30°C Touko shows the first vanishing sign of having "a bit coldish" in his paws. The feeling is easily forgotten when something interesting (I bet I heard a mouse under this snow pile!! Me go through!) comes up.
Unfortunately the current data in limited to this range only. When further observation points are achieved, they will be reported immediately.
